New Delhi, 31 January, The two-day 61st State Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Delhi commenced with grandeur and solemnity at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar, set up in the campus of Keshav Mahavidyalaya under the Rohini Vibhag. The conference began with the inauguration of an exhibition dedicated to the memory of late Madan Bhatia Ji, former State Organising Secretary of ABVP Delhi.
The exhibition showcased Delhi’s rich cultural heritage, inspiring lives of national leaders, immortal sacrifices of freedom fighters, and contemporary national issues. Special sections highlighting the valour and bravery of the Indian Armed Forces and the courage, commitment, and nationalism of women were major attractions, deeply inspiring students and delegates alike.
As part of the conference proceedings, the State Secretary’s Report was presented by State Secretary Sarthak Sharma, detailing the year-long organisational, creative, and movement-based initiatives of ABVP Delhi. He informed that during the year, ABVP Delhi enrolled over 54,000 student members and successfully constituted 137 city units and 93 college units, marking a historic milestone in organisational expansion.
The inaugural session of the 61st State Conference was graced by Padma Shri Prof. Chamu Krishna Shastri, Chairman of the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, as the Chief Guest, and Ashish Chauhan, National Organising Secretary of ABVP, as the Guest of Honour. The occasion also witnessed the presence of Ved Prakash Tandon, Chairman of the Reception Committee, Rakesh Gupta, General Secretary of the Reception Committee, and several other distinguished dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, PadmaShri Chamu Krishna Shastri stated, “We are all like a pen. When we remain in the hands of a strong organisation, we can contribute meaningful and nation-oriented writing.
ABVP workers embody a harmonious blend of capacity for action, knowledge, and willpower. When this confluence manifests in a karyakarta’s personality, they become a foundation stone for social reconstruction. ABVP reflects purity like the Ganga, imbued with an unwavering spirit of national service, inspiring youth to become responsible and principled citizens.”
National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan, in his address, highlighted that ABVP has launched innovative campaigns such as ‘Screen Time to Green Time’ and ‘Play Time’ to guide youth towards a positive and balanced lifestyle. He emphasized the importance of reconnecting young people with nature, sports, and social life, and urged students to take responsibility for spreading the ‘Panch Parivartan’ vision of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh across educational campuses.
Speaking on the occasion, re-elected State Secretary of ABVP Delhi, Sarthak Sharma, said,“At a time when youth in several countries are being viewed through fragmented and negative perspectives, India’s youth stands united with organisations like ABVP that uphold the idea of Nation First and are moving forward towards a Developed India. This State Conference will play a significant role in motivating student power towards nation-building through various ideological, academic, and organisational sessions, while also providing direction for the expansion and strengthening of the organisation.”
