On 29 October, SGND Khalsa College inaugurated its E- Cell, UDYAMITA. It was inaugurated by the principal, Dr Manmohan Kaur, the eminent faculty members and the esteemed guest speakers Mr Ashu Agrawal,director BW accelerat; Miss Supriya mamgain, co-founder and CEO Play Your Sport; Mr Yogendra Kumar, co-founder W2E; Mr Vijay Kumar, co-founder and CEO of Indianbizparty.
The session started with the inaugural address and the general introduction of the speakers. Mr Vijay Kumar shared his own life’s experience from a B.tech student to an entrepreneur and told about his business venture which is a global startup designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs.This was followed up by a video presentation which displayed the journey of an entrepreneur and the views of some prominent and successful entrepreneurs and professors about entrepreneurship as a career opportunity.
Mr Yogendra Verma was the next to draw the attention of the gathering by a real story of two entrepreneurs who established the startup in just two months which left the students with several lessons to learn as an entrepreneur. Earning lot of money was an answer by a student to the question that why one wants to be an entrepreneur but Mr. Verma extends it by noting that an entrepreneur is his own boss. He emphasizes that staying firm on the ground and yet to aim for the sky is what an entrepreneur must do. Mr Ashu Agrawal asked the students that where they do want to see them after four years. Being on Forbes ‘s list or having a Ferrari were the different interesting replies by the students. Mr Agrawal spoke about his venture BW, ‘accelerate’ which is a program to build a platform for early stage start ups, fostering innovation, speeding business growth and accelerating entrepreneurial aspiration in the country.
Miss Supriya Mangain, a positive and zealous one, is the next to address the young minds and dictates her journey from being an employee to an employer. Speaking about her venture, she said that she connects the people of same interests, and allows them to explore, create and enjoy their own space.
And then the principal motivated the students wishing them good luck. She pointed out the meaning of ‘Udyam’ comes from ‘originating’ and regards Udyamita as the “originating” of a new venture in the college. Mr G. S. Sood further addressed the youngsters and made them aware about the trends of the entrepreneurship. The inaugural function was followed up by high tea.
