Kripalani Memorial Lecture -2025 organized

New Delhi. The Acharya Kripalani Memorial Lecture 2025 was held at the local Hindi Bhavan. Former Member of Parliament, Shri K.C. Tyagi, was the chief guest to deliver a lecture on Acharya J.B. Kripalani during the Emergency, while senior journalist and President of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, presided over the event.

Speaking as the chief guest at the memorial lecture organized on the 137th birth anniversary of Acharya Kripalani, K.C. Tyagi said that Jai Prakash Narayan considered the government that imposed the Emergency illegal. The socialist had been associated with the Congress under Gandhi's leadership, but later left the Congress party, not without reason. The Emergency was not imposed for any system, but to serve the mutual interests of one family. JP, Lohia, and Gandhi were all strongly against the monarchy in Nepal. Nehru did the exact opposite of what Gandhiji said. Nehru was a Gandhian by name, but he did not follow even a single principle of his. During the Congress rule, there was severe famine in the country. Agricultural production in the country had started to stagnate.

In his presidential address at the event, organized by the Acharya Kripalani Memorial Trust, Ram Bahadur Rai said that Kripalani had written his memoirs in his final days, titled "My Times." The Acharya Kripalani Memorial Trust has published this memoir in three volumes in Hindi. However, the book doesn't clearly describe his role during the Emergency. If anyone was caught engaging in Satyagraha during the Emergency, it was Acharya Kripalani.

A large number of intellectuals and social activists, including the founder of ITM University (Gwalior), Shri Ramashankar Singh, senior author Virendra Mishra, Director of the World Youth Center, Uday Shankar Singh, Sandeep Joshi, Mahesh Bhai, Sudip Sahu, Prof. Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Giri, Rajesh Kumar Jha, Jitendra Narayan Singh, Advocate Jagdish Singh, Shyam Sundar, Sunil Kumar, Dr. Shashikant Rai, Manish Chandra Shukla, Manoj Rai, Prabhat Ojha, Prem Prakash, Janardan Yadav, Sanjeev Kumar, Gunjan Kumar, Brajesh Kumar Jha, Sushmita Singh, Vandana Jha, Subhash Gautam, and others, were present at the event.
